Nursing Care Services

Nurses are available 24 hours a day to provide care and service when you need it. The longevity of our highly trained professional team of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants, overseen by a dedicated medical director fosters continuity of care and more positive outcomes. Sunny Hill Nursing Home of Will County nursing team aids with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating. All aspects of care delivery are assessed including medication administration and pain management. Once admitted to Sunny Hill Nursing Home a team of dedicated professionals will develop an individualized plan for providing quality care promoting independence and enhancing overall quality of life.

Sunny Hill’s mission is to provide residents with the freedom to make individual choices, which is the cornerstone of resident-centered care.

We are pleased to offer resident choices with daily meal selection and dining areas, as appropriate. The day starts out with a full course breakfast including eggs, hot/cold cereals, fruit, breakfast meats, yogurt, cottage cheese and toast with a variety of juices, coffee, or tea. Two entrees are offered at lunch and dinner. Salads and fruit are offered at lunch and dinner. We also offer a daily Resident Special. Staff offers residents fruit and snack items between meals.

Our independent residents may choose to have their meals in the main dining room or on their avenues. Each avenue has its own dining room and kitchenette. Food is brought from the main kitchen to the avenue kitchenette and is served promptly. This way the hot food stays hot, and the cold food stays cold.

We would be happy to provide families with a copy of our five-week menu cycle, to help assist your loved ones with menu selection.

Residents and families are invited to attend the Monthly Resident Food Council Meeting to offer suggestions on how the meal services may be improved. At this meeting, the residents choose a special meal they would like. The selected meal is served the third Wednesday of the following month.

NOTICE UNDER THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT

In accordance with the requirements of title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), 42 U.S.C. §§12101, et seq., Will County (County) will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in the County's services, programs, or activities. In Grievance Procedure under The Americans with Disabilities Act

This Grievance Procedure is established to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act. It may be used by anyone who wishes to file a complaint alleging discrimination on the basis of disability in employment practices and policies or the provision of services, activities, programs, or benefits by Will County.

The complaint should be in writing and contain information about the alleged discrimination such as name, address, phone number of complainant and location, date, and description of the problem. Alternative means of filing complaints, such as personal interviews or a tape recording of the complaint, will be made available for persons with disabilities upon request. The complaint should be submitted by the grievant and/or his/her designee as soon as possible but no later than 60 calendar days after the alleged violation to:

Within 15 calendar days after receipt of the complaint, the ADA Coordinator will meet with the complainant to discuss the complaint and the possible resolutions. Within 15 calendar days of the meeting, the ADA Coordinator will respond in writing, and where appropriate, in format accessible to the complainant, such as large print, or audio tape. The response will explain the position of Will County and offer options for substantive resolution of the complaint.

If the response by the ADA Coordinator does not satisfactorily resolve the issue, the complainant and/or his/her designee may appeal the decision of the ADA coordinator within 15 calendar days after receipt of the response to the Chief Elected Official or his or her designee.

If the complainant appeals, the Chief Elected Official or his or her designee will meet with the complainant to discuss the complaint and possible resolutions. Within 15 calendar days after the meeting, the Chief Elected Official or his or her designee will respond in writing, and, where appropriate, in a format accessible to the complainant, with a final resolution of the complaint.

All written complaints received by the ADA Coordinator, appeals to the Chief Elected Official or his or her designee, and responses from the ADA coordinator and Chief Elected Official or his or her designee will be kept by Will County for at least three years.
