Salary Range
$21.6346 – $24.0384 D.O.Q.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
(All responsibilities may not be performed by all incumbents.)

Perform administrative and clerical support for the Human Resources department across various functions
-
Maintain employee records
-
Assist with employee relations
-
Support recruitment efforts
-
Assist with pre-employment processes and onboarding of new hires and volunteers
-
Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations
-
Serve as a liaison between the Human Resources department, leadership, internal departments, union, and employees
-
Handle all Human Resources processes with confidentiality
-
Support HR initiatives and projects
MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT USED
- Various related office machines, including computer, printer, calculator, copier, fax and telephone.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
EDUCATION AND PREVIOUS RELATED EXPERIENCE

Associate’s degree in a related field required

Bachelor’s degree preferred
-
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted

Minimum of 1 year performing responsible administrative duties in Human Resources
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment law
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
-
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
-
Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management abilities

Effective verbal and written communication
-
Ability to maintain confidentiality
-
Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
-
Ability to collaborate with various departments and staff levels
REQUIREMENTS:
-
Valid State of Illinois Driver’s License and minimum auto insurance (as required by law)
- SHRM certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred

Must successfully pass:

IDPH background check
-
Titer test for Hepatitis B
-
Varicella and TB test (upon offer)
